Base Lovin' American Wheat

Brewed: 09/13/2015   Kegged: 09/27/2015

When I first tasted my second batch of Apricot Lovin' American Wheat, I thought I had overdone the Apricot flavor. I thought I could brew the base of the beer and blend some back into the keg to reduce that flavor.

As I started drinking more of the Apricot beer, I decided it was pretty good as it was, but I had committed to brewing this beer, and decided to bottle it all rather than put some back into the keg.

It can still be used to blend beers or it can be consumed on its own.

For more information on Summer Lovin' (the base beer of this recipe), see the "Summer Lovin" label on my blog

Did the mash last night and let it go overnight. Brewed today. Everything went pretty well. Ended up with OG right on. Pitched at a little below 58.

I think this can be bottled or kegged at any time. Well, not kegged because I don't have a keg for it to go into.

Gravity sample 1.006 make this a 4.7% abv beer. This is fairly close to the apricot wheat. Not sure if I'll blend some of this straight into the apricot keg or not.

Last Sunday, racked about a gallon into Apricot Lovin. Bottled the rest. Got 5 liter pets, 5 bombers, 4 12oz bottles.
