Oompa Loompa Mango Pale Ale

So, you may remember that the Beer Model and I brewed a beer together in November of 2017: Where'd My ManGo Wheat. The beer turned out fantastic. Obviously the Beer Model is a fantastic brewer. 

When we brewed Where'd My ManGo Wheat, I only used about half the mango extract, and I thought I'd use it up in an IPA. 

After thinking about it some more I decided I did not want an IPA. I wanted a Pale Ale.

So, I came up with a recipe for a pale ale that would take the final Mango Flavoring that I had bought for Where'd My ManGo Wheat.

I decided to try Eukanot (aka Equinox aka HBC 366 hops) because I think I've read that it tastes tropical with some mango flavors. I was also going to use Mosaic hops, but my last batch using Mosaic tasted a little off. After I had another Mosaic Pale Ale at a local brew pub, I decided that the off-flavor might have been Mosaic hops rather than some sort of infection.

So, I dropped Mosaic from this batch of beer. I replaced it with Centennial, which is a tried and true hop in several of my hoppy recipes.

Brewed yesterday. Good brew day. Just the very beginning (maybe) of fermentation signs. 64 degrees.

Took sample. 1.012 is pretty close to planned 1.011. Good flavor. Think the mango flavor will fit right in.

Kegged. Forgot the mango flavor until the end, but got it in there. Sitting in the beer fridge at the moment. Calling the FG 1.011 and the final ABV 5.1%
